The reasons why family is so much important in our life are so many. But we have to realize that when we talk about family, we are talking about everyone and not just our family. The word family is used to describe all of the associations we have with our parents, our relatives, our brothers and sisters, our friends and our spouses.
The first reason for having a family is for the sake of the safety of the children. This is the basic reason behind starting a family. We love them and we want them to be happy and secure. To accomplish this, we need to create some sort of family structure – a set of family rules that we will follow. This will keep everyone obedient and follow the set path.
Another reason behind having a family is the economic security it brings. If you think about it, the family is considered as one unit and if one member of the family dies, then the whole family will suffer because they would depend on each other. The last thing anyone wants is to be separated from the rest of the family because of some tragedy. Hence, making a family unit is really essential in order to ensure the security of each member.
The third reason behind having a family is for the sake of education. Children who grow up knowing their parents and siblings and being raised with respect by both of them are more likely to do well in school. Hence, creating a family unit that consists of older siblings helps them learn to be respectful and to appreciate what they have. This is a key ingredient in growing up.
The fourth reason why family is so much important in our lives is that it creates a sense of community amongst the members. When we are brought up together as a family, we start practicing a kind of social etiquette that is expected in any group. The family tree serves as the common history for the members and the same can sometimes help historians create genealogies and even to trace the roots of a particular family. Hence, when we trace the history of a certain person or a family, we are actually trying to discover the past of those we love.
The fifth reason is that a family tree is actually a good marker or a guide to begin understanding a certain area’s culture. We can actually get a better idea of what kind of people lived in a certain region or area if we find some records in their history. Such a study may indeed open our eyes to many things about that area.
The sixth reason is that having a family tree serves as a physical representation of the history of the members of the family. This may actually give us an idea of their values and habits. Hence, it is a very important tool to help us understand our family members more. Many people also use a family tree not only for the purpose of storytelling but for the purpose of genealogical research as well. In fact, some historians use such tools for deciphering ancient documents and inscriptions.
The seventh reason is that a family tree helps us learn more about our ancestors. Through it, we can actually learn more about the lives of our forefathers and fathers. We can learn more about the different things that they did and how they lived their lives and even how they were perceived by the society in the time of their lives. Hence, through a family tree, you can actually learn more about your ancestors and their lives and how they were perceived by the society around them.
